Write Your Art Out
Write Your Art Out
In partnership with DARIA and Lighthouse Writers Workshop
Have you ever wanted to be an art reviewer? In this 4-week program, learn the basics of reviewing a visual art exhibition and how to find your own voice as an art writer. With the guidance of writers from DARIA: Denver Art Review, Inquiry, and Analysis, you’ll have the opportunity to work both one-on-one and in small groups to explore how to approach visual art as a writer, the basics of writing an exhibition review, workshopping your art writing, and polishing your work. At the end of the program, you’ll have a finished review you can submit to DARIA or other publications. Pieces submitted to DARIA will compete for publication on the DARIA site dariamag.com.

Participants will be split up into four groups and meet virtually with an art writing instructor on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm, April 6th-27th. In addition to work done in each class, participants will be encouraged to attend two Lighthouse Writers Workshops as well as gallery exhibitions around the state.
Please fill out the Google Form to apply. Applications close on March 22nd. We will contact applicants by March 26, 2021, with a decision. We are looking for participants who want to learn how to write critically about art!
