Reality BYTES – A First Glance at Supernova 2018
Denver Digerati is super pumped for this year’s SUPERNOVA Digital Animation Festival, with core elements, sponsors and community collaborations shaping up in the most exciting ways and well in advance of the now-annual September program.
For the first time, SUPERNOVA will incorporate a byline to encapsulate all of the wonderful elements that will combine to make the 2018 version the most dynamic and expansive yet. “Reality BYTES” promotes the broad, multi-faceted interest digital technology is rapidly stirring within contemporary art and community engagement. It’s a sign of the times, in ways that can be equally playful and potent, as well as just a bit sinister.
Throughout the month of May, Understudy will utilize its unique position downtown to promote some of the key elements and partnerships that are underway for SUPERNOVA 2018, as advance notice for what is shaping up to be one of Denver’s most singular creative experiences. Be the first to learn what’s in store with Reality BYTES!
SUPERNOVA is presented by Denver Digerati with support from Denver Theatre District, Denver Arts & Venues, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Meow Wolf, Understudy, CU Denver CAM, Museum of Outdoor Arts, Colorado Office of Film Television & Media, Orange Barrel Media, Branded Cities, and more. Community affiliations and collaborations in 2018 include MCA Denver, Redline, Denver Film Society, CU Boulder Sonic Arts, Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, NXT STG Collaborative and Emmanuel Gallery at CU Denver. SUPERNOVA also sup- ports the summer-long exhibition “Pixelated” at Denver Botanic Gardens.
SUPERNOVA will take place September 21-22nd, with additional elements incorporated at various city venues beginning September 14th and through the 23rd.
Understudy is located at the Colorado Convention Center / Theatre District light rail stop near 14th and Stout. Look for the B-Cycle station next to the light rail tracks or Shantell Martin’s art bench.
