Finley Baker

Wildness is an abstract video animation that explores the relationship between water scarcity and the wild horses of the West. This animation weaves together imagery that evokes the fluidity and tenuousness of these majestic creatures’ survival amidst dwindling water supplies. Through this dialogue, I hope to inspire a deeper connection to our shared responsibility in protecting these vulnerable landscapes and the stories they hold.

About the Artist:

Finley Baker (she/they) is a queer interdisciplinary artist and birdwatcher based in Colorado. They use printmaking, fibers, sculpture and time-based media to explore environment through the paths of experience and personal connection. Finley is currently focusing their research on environmental concerns in the Great Plains and the Intermountain West.
